Feng Shui is a study of natural sicence. It tries to incorporate physics, geography , climatology, astronomy, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics and electromagnetics together and produces something for divination. The basic concept of the ancient Chinese is that human beings must live in harmony with the earth and the heaven, i.e. the whole universe. In order to make sure we are in harmony with the universe, we need to rely on the rules of Feng Shui to do the best. Most Chinese believe in Feng Shui to a certain extent although quite a large number of them are reluctant to admit it openly, afraid of being criticised at superstition. In Hong Kong , many architects refer to Feng Shui rules when they are designing buildings, in particular ,domestic buildins to achieve a better image and of course a higher price. The geometrical relation ship between critical areas within a flat, say the toilets and the kitchens, and the bedrooms has been considered one very important element for the good Feng Shui of the flat. We believe that it is something to do with the air flow within the flat, which is invisible and difficult to measure. In this paper , techniques in computational fluid dynamics(CFD) are employed to look into this aspect of Feng Shui. The theory of CFD and the calculation procedures are briefly introduced. An example wil be included as an illustration.
