Energy Saving Designs of HVAC Systems for Tomson S
An energy study was carried for a clubhouse to be built in Shanghai. The total plot area of the projectis approximately 80000 sq m2, with approximately 24000 sq m2 of which being iterior design area that reqired different forms of HVAC services. When completed , the clubhouse will provide services with social, business and entertainment functions. Conservation of energy was a high priority for the design of the project. In consideration of this , Ove Arup & Partners untilized energy simulation technology to study the feasibility of introducing the most advanced building enrgy-efficient engineering ractices to the project.
The study started with the understanding of climatic conditions. it is found that both heating and cooling are necessary to provide a high quality of indoor environment . Reduction on energy consumption replies on the proper selection of systems for generation and distribution of cooling and heating energy. A series of studies on systems such as ice storage, desiccant cooling and dehumidificiation , adsorption chiller, heat-reclaim devices, solar system and combined heat and power system were carried out. This paper presents the results of some of these studies, with both technical and edonomics considerations being investigated.
