VALIDATION OF TIME -VARYING SENSOR FAUL TS IN HVAC

An automatic strategy to evaluate time-varying sensor biases of building energy management and control systems in building air-conditioning systems is developed. The strategy is based on the fundamental conservation (mass and energy conservation) to avoid the effects of changes of plant performance and working condition. Sensor biases are estimated by minimizing the weighted sum of the squares of the mass and energy balance residuals of selected control volumes using exponential forgetting. The strategy and the validation of the strategy on a central chilling system are presented.
