According to this research, the BSI varied widely between 0.2 and 1.9. This means
no serious problems with the Sick Building Syndrome could be expected. The BCI
(average summer/ winter situation) lies between 2.4 and 3.8, which is reasonably
good. The energy consumption varied strongly between 586 and 2 873 MJ/m2 gross
floor area, while the average energy consumption of the buildings in this research
was 35% higher than the EU average. The BSIp showed a strong relation to the
measured BSI for the investigated buildings; the Correlation Coefficient (Kendall’s
tau) is 0.77 and P<0.01.
