Based on a process jointly developed with Building Technologies, Shaw Industries, a manufacturer of carpets and floorings in Dalton, Georgia, can convert carpet and wood manufacturing waste into steam energy.
This will enable Shaw to lower plant emissions, greatly reduce the amount of post-manufacturing carpet and wood waste in landfills, and save US$2.5 million. Carpet and wood waste is used to fuel a boiler, which in turn produces steam, which Shaw then uses in its manufacturing operations. SBT has been asked to design and service the appropriate technical installations in Dalton.
