Building Energy Options in China

Ever since 1970’s oil crisis, energy and environment have been drawing great attention from the pubic, scientific institutions, and the government. Numerous case study and research indicate buildings consume the largest part among the global energy consumption. This paper describes China’s energy status development in general, and its building energy performance in particular. An analysis of building energy performance, hence its impact on energy structure and environment has been carried out. At the end of this paper, improvement method concerning the building energy performance, and corresponding energy options in China’s building sector has been proposed.
